Circle K Farm
This grower has a photo album.
Circle K Farm is owned and operated by Brian and Ange Kaluk. We are located in Ballard and have 48 acres of pasture and woodland.
When we purchased the farm from Brian’s family in fall of 1994 we began a small cow/calf operation. In the beginning we began with two black angus heifers and bred them to a black angus bull. This was the start of our herd. Since that time we have added more cattle, pigs and chickens. Last year we incorporated three bee hives to help with the pollination of our hay fields and pastures, we are now up to seven hives.
Our children have been raised on this farm, have showed cattle and pigs at the State Fair of West Virginia through local 4H programs. Agriculture is an important part of our daily lives, it is something we believe in and are happy to be able to share with you.
We have collectively decided to not use any chemicals or pesticides on our land. We do not use antibiotics or hormones in any of our animals.
Our cattle, pigs and chickens are free range. In the spring and summer the animals – except for the chickens – are pasture rotated to help maintain healthy pastures and an abundant supply of fresh green grass. The chickens just go where ever they want, sometimes with the cattle helping to distribute the manure and other times in the garden scratching for bugs. In the winter the cattle are also rotated on pasture but are fed hay that was harvested from our fields.
We feel we are very fortunate to be able to provide for our family a quality healthy alternative to store bought meat. We eat the food that our farm produces and are proud to be able to provide you with healthy alternatives. Free range grass fed beef and pastured pork are wonderful additions to your diet, because it is always nice to know where your food comes from.
Our cattle and pigs are harvested at an approved Animal Welfare USDA Humane monitored processing facility. We take great pride in a stress free life for the animals we raise and feel that this part of the process is just as important.
We are currently in the process of adding a 15×35′ greenhouse and incorporating aquaponics. We hope to be operational with this by early next year. We will keep you updated with the progress on our farm page on Facebook. Check us out under Circle K Farm.
Each spring we plant a large garden where I can a lot of the extra for the winter months, we also share with our neighbors, family and friends.
Brian and I would like to thank you for your interest in our farm and welcome your comments and questions. Feel free to contact us by email or phone.
